The Best Dog-Friendly Restaurants in America

If you’re like the majority of dog owners, you love to take your pup everywhere you go. Canine-friendly restaurants are popping up all over, and longtime favorites are expanding their menus to include your four-legged family members.

Whether you’re venturing out on a road trip, or you’re lucky enough to live near one of our favorite dog-friendly diners, the following restaurants are pro pup, and they offer a tail-wagging dining experience for humans and canines alike.

Park Bench Café–Huntington Beach, California

Along with a vast main menu and kids menu, Park Bench Café offers a generous canine cuisine menu, featuring treats like the Hot Diggity Dog and Peanut Butter Bones. And while the café implements dog-specific rules, they also encourage playtime and plenty of fun.

The restaurant’s grounds include a large park, allowing human diners to enjoy their meal while their pups play. If you opt to leave your pooch at home, be sure to request a doggy bag.

Morristown Deli—Morristown, New Jersey

This New Jersey hotspot offers an array of fantastic foods for dogs and their owners. The pet-friendly outdoor café is famous for its delicious doggy menu, dog-specific highchairs and booster seats, seasonal dog treats, doggy desserts, and on-site dog trainer. Every pooch that visits Morristown Deli is also treated to a bowl of fresh water.

Humans love the pup-friendly environment and the human-friendly dishes. We’re particularly enamored with the delicious breakfast options, including Banana French Toast, Berry Pancakes and Eggs, and the signature Western Omelet.

Cane Rosso—Carrollton, Texas

If you’re in the mood for an authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and you want to treat your pooch, this Texas-based eatery offers a mouthwatering human menu, along with lots of dog-friendly fares. Cane Rosso, which means “red dog” in Italian, is intent on keeping pups happy; they provide biscuits and fresh water to every doggy diner. The restaurant also has a rescue program and regularly invites nearby shelters to visit the establishment. Contact the restaurant for upcoming events, especially if you’d like to adopt a pet.

As far as human-friendly dishes, you can’t go wrong with the Margherita Pizza or the Rigatoni. For dessert, we recommend the S’mores Calzone, featuring chocolate, marshmallows, and caramelized sugar. Yum!

The Morrison Pub—Los Angeles, California

Your pet will feel extra special when visiting this California-based pub. Each four-legged patron receives complementary water and milk bones, and along with a variety of menus for humans, there’s a menu just for dogs, including the Cock-A-Doodle-Doo—a chicken and rice dish. The enclosed patio is the perfect spot to share a meal with your beloved pet.

For humans, we recommend the daily special, regardless of what day you visit. The weekend offering is N.Y. Steak and the appetizers and sides are unforgettably good.

Some pet-friendly restaurants have stricter rules than others, so check the website or give the eatery a call ahead of time if you have any questions. Grab a leash and your four-legged friend and a enjoy a doggy date night out!

Bon appétit!
