Steak VIP Rewards
Ponderosa Steakhouse fans can join the Steak VIP Rewards program. Members earn one point for every dollar that is spent on a qualifying purchase. 100 points earns a $10 credit on next purchase. Joining the program is free and interested guests can pick up a card at any Ponderosa Steakhouse location.
Ponderosa Steakhouse prices are average for steakhouses, with their sirloin steak, chicken breast, sirloin tips and filet mignon all priced $9.99. Their baked tilapia meanwhile, costs $9.99, as is their garlic shrimp, pork chop, broiled trout and broiled salmon. The combo meals, on the other hand, are all priced at $11.99 and the kids’ meals at $4.99, all very affordable.
The restaurant was founded by Dan Blocker in 1963, who was a part of the TV show Bonanza. The restaurant, which drew its name from the TV series, became very popular and was purchased by Charles Wyly and his brother Sam in 1966. Thanks to the affordable Ponderosa Steakhouse prices and the unique menu, the chain expanded rapidly. Today there are over 220 locations around the United States. Its current owner is Homestyle Dining LLC with the main headquarters at Kokomo, Indiana. In some regions, the chain is known as Bonanza restaurant.
